About Us

The Brown and White is Lehigh University's student-run newspaper and is published on Tuesday and Friday each week of the school year.

The Brown and White has about 30 editors, about 10 photographers and over 80 writers every semester that work every week to publish the paper. The online version of the paper is updated throughout the week as the news occurs. If you would like to contact anyone on The Brown and White, please refer to the masthead.

How often is The Brown and White published?
The Brown and White is published twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday. Press nights are Sundays and Wednesdays.

How do I submit a letter to the editor?

How do I become a writer for The Brown and White?
The Brown and White is Lehigh's student-run newspaper. If you are a student who is interested in joining The Brown and White, you will need to register for JOUR 1. This is a one credit course. You will start off taking a few crash courses on how to write for a newspaper. Once your writing improves, we will assign you to a staff and you can start writing.

If you are interested in being an editor for the paper, you must apply for a position the semester before. Applications will be available in the news room at the appropriate times. Simply fill it out and drop it at the Department of Journalism & Communication.

We need news, sports, business, science, lifestyle and opinion writers. Don't know how to write? We'll teach you! We also need editors to get the stories into their final form. We need photographers to take great shots. We need designers to lay out the pages.

The Brown and White uses a sophisticated content management system to put together the web site every week. So if you want to help out with the online version of the paper, you don't need to know any programming languages. It's simple to use and easy to learn!

The Brown and White is a completely student-run organization.

How do I advertise in The Brown and White?
Our newspaper boasts a circulation of 7,000 readers, including students, faculty, staff, and a subscription audience of alumni and parents. Your business can use us to reach this wide and diverse market. The deadline for receipt of ads is three days prior to the publication date. Ads to be included in Tuesday editions should be received no later than 4pm the previous Friday. Ads for the Friday edition should be received by 4pm the previous Tuesday.
