Local lights go out to promote environmental awareness

Packard Laboratory, the Packer Memorial Chapel, the Bethlehem Star, and dozens of Lehigh students turned off their lights Saturday night as part of the worldwide Earth Hour 2009.The annual celebration promotes efficient electricity use. (2) comments

Lois Benedict, a teaching assistant for the English department and member of Lehigh's Feminisms, said the purpose of the lunch was to discuss the ambivalence of Barbie, celebrate her and critique her at the same time.
