While the attendance at Lamberton Hall events may seem low, the students who attend the events said they are excited about the programs the venue offers.

Students attend concerts, comic acts and miniveristy events at Lamberton.

The venue also serves as a meeting location for campus organizations and student clubs.

Kristen Arestad, '10, said she has been to a couple events at Lamberton instead of spending time on the Hill.

"I think that if there were more advertisements around campus, such as in the UC," Arestad said, "and more e-mails were sent to students reminding them about events, more people would attend."

Arestad attended two comedy events and band nights at Lamberton.

She said the events were fun, but she only heard about them through her friends.

"I don't actually remember seeing ads around campus about the events I've attended at Lamberton," Arestad said. "I found out about them through word of mouth. I think that proves that more people would go if there were more ads around campus and if e-mails were sent out as reminders."

Dani Gallo, '10, said she has attended a few programs at Lamberton, but only because her roommates told her about them.

Gallo said students should encourage their friends to attend.

"I think word of mouth can work to Lamberton's advantage," Gallo said. "As more and more people begin to attend the events, more and more people will find out. I am more than happy to tell my friends about the activities I went to in order to urge them to go."

One event is the make-and-take arts and crafts program, run by Mae Duane, '10, and Laura Eull, '10.

Duane said the location of the program makes a difference in attendance.

"Arts and crafts was in Ulrich last year and about maybe five to 10 people came every Friday," Duane said. "Now that we are in Lamberton with more space, help and advertisements, we have more than tripled the amount of people who come and the amount of craft materials that we buy. It's been a good change and it wouldn't have happened unless we were in Lamberton."

Eull said they get a decent turn-out, especially with students she calls Lamberton die-hards.

"There are a few groups of people who come out every week to take part in our program," Eull said.

Ayse Bayat, '11, another regular at make-and-take, suggested Duane and Eull create more advertisements for the program, along with free food.

Bayat said most of her friends have classes during make-and-take hours, and Duane and Eull should increase the length of the program so more people can have an opportunity to take part in the event.

Overall, Duane and Eull said they are pleased with the program at Lamberton and believe they are lucky compared to other groups with events at the venue.

"We couldn't ask for a better attendance rate," Duane said. "It could be way worse and we could be buying art supplies for people who do not even show up."
