To the members of the Lehigh community:
I would like to say I am deeply sorry for the offensive St. Patrick's Day cartoon that ran in The Brown and White last week (March 18, 2008).
I feel ashamed for thinking the subject matter would be acceptable in any form, especially as a cartoon published in a campus-wide newspaper.
I am sorry to the Irish, Jewish and Greek community members I have offended with my thoughtless actions, as well as those members of our community who were shocked to witness such political incorrectness.
I firmly reject the stereotypes that were unfortunately displayed in our paper. My cartoon was a tragic example of a satire gone wrong, not a manifestation of my beliefs.
I hope readers will be able to accept my apology and realize (just as I did) that any stereotype, even if repeated without harmful intent, is unfair and should be denounced for the blatant lie it is.
Letters: Sincere apology for hurtful cartoon

Very well said, Lissa. Thank you for taking responsibility and for learning from this experience.
